CatStep

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 23, 2026

CatStep keeps homework and progress on your device. The app does not upload this information, require an account, or include advertising or analytics SDKs.

1. About this policy

This policy covers CatStep for Android (package name app.catstep), CatStep for iPhone and iPad (iOS bundle identifier app.catstep), and this support website. The developer of CatStep can be contacted at halfmoonaidev@gmail.com for privacy questions.

2. Information stored by the app

CatStep stores the information you enter and the state needed to provide its features in the app's private storage on your device:

  • Homework titles, small steps, completion status, and archived homework.
  • Timer progress, the selected task, and fish-treat rewards.
  • Custom homework suggestions, your cat's name, language preference, and introduction completion.

This information is used locally to display and save your homework, resume your timer, and remember your preferences. It is not sent to the developer or shared with advertisers. The app does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or photo library, and does not perform AI recognition.

3. Offline operation and security

The core features of the current Android and iOS apps work offline and make no network requests. Cat videos are included in the app. The Android app does not request internet permission. Opening the privacy policy or terms links uses an external browser and requires internet access.

Local information is kept in the operating system's app-private storage; CatStep does not provide its own additional database encryption. Keep your device and screen lock secure. Android cloud backup is disabled for the app. On iOS, CatStep marks its local data directory as excluded from backup. CatStep does not provide cloud synchronization or a developer-hosted backup.

4. Purchases

CatStep uses a one-time paid download. Google Play or the Apple App Store handles payment, purchase records, and any applicable refunds under the policies of the store from which you download the app. CatStep does not collect payment-card details and has no subscriptions or in-app purchases. App-store data handling is separate from the local homework data described here.

5. Retention and deletion

Your local information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app's storage. You can delete individual homework entries inside CatStep. On Android, clearing CatStep's storage in system settings or uninstalling it removes its local app data, including settings and progress. On iPhone or iPad, choose Delete App in system settings to remove CatStep and its local app data; Offload App retains documents and data. There is no CatStep account or server-side homework record to delete or recover. Any copies retained through operating-system backups, device-management, or transfer tools are controlled by those systems and tools.

6. Children and family use

CatStep can be used by children with a parent or guardian's guidance. It has no accounts, public profiles, messaging, advertising, or remote collection of children's homework data. A parent or guardian should manage purchases and contact support on a child's behalf. Please do not email a child's full name, school, or other unnecessary identifying information.

7. Support messages and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond to your request, not for advertising. Email is handled through Gmail under Google's privacy policy. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve the inquiry and meet any applicable legal obligations; you may request its deletion using the contact address below.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and secure pages, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, request time, and requested URL under its privacy policy. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts, or tracking cookies to these pages. Opening a web or email link uses your browser or mail app and their respective privacy settings.

8. Changes and contact

Updates to this policy will be posted here with a revised date. If the app's data practices change, this policy and relevant store disclosures will be updated accordingly.

For privacy questions, requests about support correspondence, or concerns about children's privacy, contact halfmoonaidev@gmail.com.
